I offer a range of 1:1 private sewing courses and workshops in Hampshire to suit all abilities, please browse all current classes below.
Private sewing classes are held at my studio in Hook.
You can bring your own sewing machine or use one of mine.
If there is a course you would like that I don't currently offer, just get in touch to discuss.
PRIVATE TUITION
You can book a 1:1 session or join with friends and I can tailor tuition to your needs or a project you have in mind. Bring your own machine or work on one of mine. Includes a steady supply of tea and biscuits
£25 per hour
KNOW YOUR MACHINE
An introduction to your sewing machine that will help you start using it with confidence, includes threading, bobbin winding, bobbin placement and basic seams.
£30 | 2 hours
SEW WITH MUM OR DAD
Aimed at young people 9 years up. Get to know how a sewing machine works and create a unique cushion featuring your own appliqué motif i.e. a rabbit, a star or heart, or a washbag as shown.
You can book one of my machines, or bring your own.

MAKE YOUR OWN PATTERNS
The pattern course concentrates on accurate patterns that aim to fit first time. Anatomical fit, combined with fabric considerations and commercial tolerances are all covered. Aiming to ensure perfect patterns are created.

PENCIL OR A-LINE LINED SKIRT
Make a perfectly fitting Pencil or A line skirt to your own measurements, Inserting a zip, making a waistband.
You will have your pattern to use again.

LINED CURTAINS
Learn how to make beautiful and professional looking curtains, with linings, and lovely mitred corners with weights.
Pattern repeats and direction are explained so that you have perfectly matching curtains.

PIPED CUSHION
Create a unique cushion in the fabric of your choice, learn how to finish the edges with contrast piping cord and a side zip.
We also discuss how to make a ‘Box cushion’.

ART OF ALTERATIONS
Amend the size of a dress, hem some trousers, bring along a few projects and we will see how many we can complete.

SLEEVELESS SHIFT DRESS
I will make you an individual pattern to fit you personally. You will also be given a lining pattern which if you can add later to the dress.
We make the darts, insert an invisible zip, complete the side seams, apply the facings to neck and armholes.

SEWING MASTERCLASS
For beginners or improvers; you will learn all the basic seams, darts, curved seams, how to make and apply a bias binding, making piping, channel zip, exposed zip and concealed invisible zip. Neck facings, hand stitched lovely hem, and making buttonholes.

UPCYCLE YOUR GARMENTS
Upcycle a long sleeved shirt into a sleeveless summer top. Learn how to make a shirt into a modern sleeveless style, or transform a pair of jeans into a tote bag - this is a bespoke course intended to teach you to upcycle a wide range of items.
