ABOUT WENDY
Having worked for over 30 years in both the fashion industry and higher education, I have a wealth of technical and creative knowledge to offer professionals and budding crafters alike.
I am a highly experienced, creative pattern cutter and garment technologist, most used to working alongside designers to accurately interpret their original design sketches into accurate working patterns and toiles. an extensive knowledge of cutting techniques using flat or 3D methods, and a comprehensive knowledge of garment construction.
EXPERIENCE
I have worked as Creative Pattern Cutter interpreting original designers sketches into accurate working patterns and toiles for designers including McQueen, Ralph & Russo, Roland Mouret, M&S Twiggy and Collection ranges, and Long Tall Sally, as well as International musicians, celebrities and models, including Beyonce and Amanda Holden.
I have also lectured at the London College of Fashion in Cut and Construction, the University of Southampton & Winchester School of Art as Cut and Construction Lecturer for their MA fashion degree, Bournemouth University as BA Fashion Cut and Construction Lecturer, and worked with MA students to develop their designs through patterns, draping and toiles to the finished garment.
